- removal of principally Fe but also Mn, NH4-N, TN, SO4, BOD, acidity and TDS to discharge limits from contaminated leachate
- to manage variable flows and contaminant loadings
- to design a passive treatment system which requires minimal maintenance
- to utilise a landscape design that incorporates regional/ local native plant species integrating surrounding vegetation and that provides functional contaminant removal, fauna habitat and recreational opportunities that extend the site end-use options
