Kathy is the founder and sole Director of Syrinx Environmental PL and which has become established as one of the leading ecological restoration and sustainable design companies in Australia.
Kathy is well known for integrating and combining scientific disciplines to generate sustainable, appropriate and innovative solutions to disturbed or degraded land with varied end-use scenarios - from habitat restoration to urban development.
She is an internationally renowned ecologist with extensive experience in restoration ecology, environmental remediation, environmentally sustainable design, conservation science and ecological engineering.
She has particular expertise in passive wastewater treatment and reuse, having successfully designed and built wetlands and biofilters for sewage, industrial water and stormwater across Australia.
Kathy’s visionary and practical approach to problem solving and design has set the benchmark for ecological restoration and sustainability in Australia. She has acted as principal consultant for projects of major environmental significance across Australia and abroad, including multiple works along the Swan and Canning Rivers. Many of these have received international and national awards for innovation.
